For over 40 years, Benny Golson has been one of
the architects of jazz. Now Benny revisits some of his biggest hits, with
some new ones as well, demonstrating the reasons for his preeminence as
a performer, composer and arranger. This CD includes a reunion with Jazztet
alumni Art Farmer and Curtis Fuller as well as the world premiere of Benny's
classical piano composition, "On Gossamer Wings" performed by
Lara Downes. Highlighting this recording is a rare guest appearance by Shirley
Horn backed by a string orchestra.
